I can't believe where this year has gone, and that it's Christmas already, well, will be in 4 days time!! It looks like we will be having a white Christmas here in Kent too....not that I am really pleased about that as it makes life quite difficult with the Horses. After the very dry summer that we had, hay is in short supply, and of course everyone is using much more than usual due to the bad weather, meaning short supplies are now running out. Luckily, I have a helpful local farmer who I buy my hay from, and he has also supplied some big bale haylage into the field so the three of them are quite happily tucking into that despite the cold and snow - fat, fluffy and happy horses! Although, if this weather continues I will probably be bankrupt by the Spring as the hay is not exactly cheap ;-o !
On the art front....I am looking forward to having some time at home over the festive season, and concentrating on finishing up the long overdue oil painting, as well as working on a new large piece I hope to exhibit next year - I can't exactly ride the horses in the snow so will focus my efforts elsewhere!! I am very excited about the large graphite piece I am currently working on, and would hope that it would be of a standard to try and get into an exhibition or two in 2011.
