Hugely excited today as I have just found out that 'Focus' sold at the Horse in Art Exhibition at Obsidian Art!!!

Now I need to really get cracking on some more pieces for further exhibitions this year!!!

I'm very excited about the up coming art exhibition at Obsidian Art, Stoke Mandeville, Buckinghamshire - The Horse in Art. The exhibition runs from the 6 Jan to the 5 Feb. I am exhibiting here for the first time ever, with 'Focus', and am very much looking forward to it, particulary as works were selected rather than it being open entries!! My New Year's resolution was to start exhibiting my work in 2012, so I'm glad I've managed to achieve this so early in the year!! I picked up 'Focus' from the framers just before Christmas, and have taken a quick snapshot of it hanging on my wall before it goes to Obsidian Art on the 2 Jan:

This piece will be for available for sale at the exhibition. Now I really must pick up the original pieces I started so I have some more work to exhibit in 2012!!!

The Association of Animal Artists exhibition started yesterday at the Derby House store in Wrightington, Lancashire.

There is lots of fantastic art on display, and well worth going along to if you are in the area. The exhibition runs until 11th December. Really sad I couldn't get 'Focus' framed and there in time; but here's to the next exhibition!

I have finally got round to listing another old original piece on E-bay. This time it is 'Connection', an A4 sized drawing of a dressage horse. It's amazing to me how much my drawing style has evolved over the last few years, and so I'm quite happy to clear out these older ones :-)

As usual, this has been listed with a 99p start price, no reserve, and free postage.

Wow it is nearing the end of October and I haven't blogged since the beginning of the month, ooops! Hope everyone has been enjoying the fabulous weather this weekened, I certainly have and have bene out for a coule of lovely hacks in the sunshine on my boy. Really hope the weather stays like this!

On the art front, I am aiming to list another portrait on E-bay this afternoon - this time 'Connection'. Then I have just one left to 'clear out' after that :-)

I have also just had a commissioned portrait approved by the Client which is great, and will look forward to sharing that over the coming weeks. I am now picking up the original piece I started a while back, and also hope to finish that piece soon too.

I'm really excited to report that I have just (and about time too!) joined the Association of Animal Artists. They have many fantastic artists that I am in awe of, and I thoughly look forward to being able to be involved with the Association over the forthcoming months. I am running a new E-bay auction, this time of my original piece 'Gazing'.

100% of the proceeds will go towards an amazing effort by equine vets Pat Sells and Laura Heaps, who are driving to Gambia this month to support the Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust. They are driving a 4x4 all the way from the UK to the Trust Clinic in Sambel Kunda, West Africa. The vehicle is needed by the clinic to continue its important work providing free veterinary care to local villages and markets. After driving nearly 4,000 miles, they will deliver the vehicle and much needed veterinary supplies to the clinic. The following months will be spent working as volunteer vets and collecting much needed samples to investigate the myriad of tropical diseases affecting animals there. The vehicle will remain at the clinic as an essential tool in delivering help to the animals that need it.

I am really pleased to report that I have finished my new original drawing 'Focus'. This has taken me about 15 hours on and off over the last few weeks. I have really enjoyed including such detail in this drawing, if you look closely you can see all the tiny hairs, which were probably the most time consuming of this whole piece!

As part of my clear out I have listed another little portrait on to E-bay.

This time is it a little postcard sized drawing of a Showjumper on his horse, on Bristol Board. This auction has a low start price with no reserve, and free postage. I don't expect it to make much, however I am hoping that someone will be able to enjoy this drawing, rather than it sitting out of sight.
